I posted somewhere on the net that I had a very weird feeling about this Florida-Georgia game and unfortunately the game played out precisely as I feared it might. Result? A well-earned 42-30 victory by a team desperate for a victory in this great rivalry. Georgia showed just how desperate they were after their first touchdown -- they had to signal to themselves, their fans, and to the Gators that they were sick and tired of being sick and tired of losing to the Mighty Gators.
Kudos to them.
I saw a great video yesterday from a Georgia Bulldog fan that gives an indication of the passion of SEC football fans, Georgia style. The heartbreak when you lose, etc. So, in honor of this rare victory I thought I'd post it here -- from Corey Smith:
Congratulations, Bulldogs. Fifteen out of eighteen? We'll take it. A lead in the series during my lifetime? I'll take that, too.

Okay... NOW you need to admit that the defense is lacking. They are 8th (or worse now after that game) in the SEC in defense. Yes they were missing some guys... but I think it's obvious, they just got chewed up... on the ground and in the secondary. They just aren't able to step up and make the great play when they are the needed the most. They got run over. And by a team that was nearly shutout by the Vols.
Yes... offense could have been better. Tim's shoulder was clearly having a serious affect on him and the play calling. But when your offense scores you that many points... you shouldn't lose.
That all said... I'm glad it was Georgia instead of Tennessee. The TN folks up here wouldn't let me hear the end of it. And I'll be cheering for every team playing TN to try to keep TN out of the SEC title game.

Yeah, I'll give that up. Kyle Jackson and Mr. Joiner -- we desperately needed both of these guys to display greater versatility.
Ain't happening.
I was very pleased with Tim and the offense. I feel for Kestahn but he's had two devastating fumbles in two incredibly important games.
It was just time for Georgia to win this game. That said, the O-line was surprisingly handled, too. This was a team loss but especially a loss traced to the Defense, no doubt about it.
