Does Hillary Hold All the Cards, Not Barack Obama?
Is it just me, or are the East and West Coast Democrats, the Ted Kennedy Democrats, and the Chicago machine Democrats, and even the African American Democrats, all of them, failing to realize one big fact: Hillary Clinton still has options. Serious options. Since she is being kicked to the curb all over the Democrat landscape, she can (and may) tell each and every one of these groups to go straight to hell if they keep dissin' her with such great relish. Me thinks they had better shut the hell up and start properly kissing up to her or risk the serious wrath of a woman scorned. A woman who is consistently winning the white vote in her party.
I think Barack Obama understands this, based on his speech after winning in North Carolina, but I'm not sure his supporters do.
If she finally gets fed up and decides to show them just what Big Mama HRIC (Head Rodham In Charge) can do when sufficiently angered, if she decides to run as an Independent, well guess what? The odds are mighty good she will get more votes nationally than Barack Obama will or, at the very least, run even with him. Then what the hell are the Democrats going to do?
I think all of these left-wing activists are rather stupidly underestimating the hell out of Hillary. I remember people seriously speculating over the prospect of Ross Perot setting up another national political party -- but Bill and Hillary can actually go beyond threatening to do it. They can accomplish the fact.

It seems that Bob Barr is going to run as the Libertarian party candidate.
If Hillary runs as an independent the election may be a free for all between factions of both major parties.
Perhaps with the president winning by a small margin, leaving a majority of bitter and angry citizens. Which is not a good situation if the economy melts down or if there is a major terrorist attack.

Yeah, I saw that. I realize I've lost all objective ability to assess the Barack Obama thing so maybe that helps explain the Bob Barr announcement. It's such a crazy year, hubris must be speaking to Barr and the time to strike is now.
Will he try and coordinate some kind of approach with Ron Paul???
One way or the other, this is an historic election cycle.

I think what is driving Bob Barr is McCain’s isolation of a major segment of the Republican base. McCain's weakness may provide opportunity to build a coalition between dissatisfied Republicans and the Libertarian Party.
I think Ron Paul will rapidly fade away. Although he abandoned the Libertarian Party, I think what destroyed his candidacy was the news letters that his name was associated with. Personally I don't believe there is any credible evidence that Ron Paul is a racist, but the news letters were so bad that any association was political suicide.
I suspect that Bob Barr will be looking at expanding a coalition. If he can capture evangelical and catholic votes he may start building momentum. An interesting partnership would be Allen Keys joining Bob Barr to draw the conservative Christian vote.
Watching the Keys / Obama you tube debate the other day leads me to believe that Keys may be very appealing to evangelicals as well as catholics.
